Use of Colors to Heighten ten the Luck of your Business

Let’s tie in all we have learned about the use of colors with the best overall color scheme for your workplace. The basic colors to use in decorating the workplace should either be in harmony with the element that rules the business or correspond to one of the lucky stars of the owner or CEO. Colors can be of any shade, as intense or as subtle as you wish. The recommended colors are as follows:

• If the business is ruled by the element Water, or if the lucky star of its owner or CEO is 1 Water Star, use any combination of white and black with grays. You can substitute deep blues for black.
• If the business is ruled by the element Wood, or if the lucky star of its owner or CEO is 3 Wood Star or 4 Wood Star, use any combination of greens with white and black. You can substitute deep blues for black and light blues for greens.
• If the business is ruled by the element Fire, or if the lucky star of its owner or CEO is 9 Fire Star, use any combination of reds and/or purples with greens or with earth tones. The range of reds to purples includes bright red, deep red, burgundy, maroon, rose, red-violet, blue-violet, magenta, and so on. You can substitute the lighter shades of blue for greens. Earth tones include all yellows, golds, ochers, oranges, tans, browns, sand colors, and beiges.

• If the business is ruled by the element Earth, or if the lucky star of its owner or CEO is 2 Earth Star, 5 Earth Star, or 8 Earth Star, use any combination of earth tones with reds and/or purples.
• If the business is ruled by Metal, or if the lucky star of its owner or CEO is 6 Metal Star or 7 Metal Star, use any combination of white and gray with earth tones.

The following vignette will show you how you can put some of the ideas to use. It involves a small design firm whose director, dissatisfied with the way his business had been going and wanting to make over his workplace, called me in to help create a new layout. I had to come up with the best locations for the director’s office, the administrative assistant’s office, the general manager’s office, the accounting office, the marketing office, the conference room, the presentation room, a network room, a reproduction and messenger room, the reception area, and twelve to fourteen workstations or cubicles.

Noting that the power point of the space and area of positive chi are to the north, the north area was chosen for the director’s office. It seemed most logical then, since the space allowed, to position the administrative assistant’s office, the general manager’s office, the accounting office, and the marketing office to the sides of the director’s office. Once this was settled, I suggested putting the presentation room at the money point of the space, considering its proximity to the main entrance and obvious place for the reception area and the fact that the firm makes its money through presenting design ideas to clients. After placing the reception area, it was no puzzle to figure out where the conference room, the reproduction and messenger room, and the network room should go. The network room, a sort of conference area for employees, seemed best in the east area of the space, while all the workstations were put in the middle.

Since this is a design firm, Wood is its ruling element. So the colors chosen 208 for the overall space were green for Wood and white and black for Water. Since the director’s lucky stars are 6 and 7 Metal, he chose to have his office decorated in white, gray, and black, because Metal (white and gray) supports Water (black), and Water supports Wood.

The presentation room, placed in the west, was now in an area of negative chi relative to the compass direction of the main door. Because the element of the southeast-facing main door is Wood and the element of the west area is Metal, the color of Water, or black, was needed for the presentation room. This was easily provided by using a black conference table. The shape of the table, in keeping with the Wood element of the business, is rectangular.

It pleases me to know that this design firm is doing very well now. After they carried through these simple plans, the firm’s business picked up, and it continues to grow steadily.
