Natal Charting Ascendant Calculation, Horoscope `map of the hour’

You will have come across the terms natal chart and birthchart at various times, and before we move on any further we ought to take a very brief look at this. The very word horoscope means `map of the hour’. The natal chart describes the character of the person or enterprise in question. Read the rest of this entry »

The Eagle and the Phoenix, Scorpio Connotations

Scorpio’s constellation is impressive in that it actually resemblances its sign, the Scorpio, whereas other constellations are obscure. Probably for this reason, the scorpion is often used to explain the concepts of Scorpio, with a sting in its tail. Scorpio also has two other symbols (it is the only sign with three), the eagle and the phoenix, and these have some interesting connotations.

All three signs are able to conquer their difficult environments with a combination of stealth and intelligence. The phoenix is the Greek name for a mythological bird offered in sacrifice to Ra, God of the Sun, in the ancient Egypt. This bird was similar to an eagle, and possessed golden-red feathers like flames. Read the rest of this entry »

Psychics Reading People Born at Chinese Rat Lunar Year

The Rat year is a year of plenty, bringing opportunity and good prospects. It will be marked by speculation and fluctuations in the prices of commodities and the stock market; the world economy in general will boom. Business will be on the upswing, fortunes can be made and it will be an easy time to accumulate wealth. However, this is also the time to make long-term investment plans as the bonanza the year of the Rat brings will serve to see us through the bleak years that may follow. All ventures begun at this time will be successful if one prepares well. But do not take chances or unnecessary risks: the year of the Rat is still ruled by the cold of winter and the darkness of night. Those who speculate indiscriminately and overextend themselves will come to a sad reckoning. Read the rest of this entry »

Astrology, the Planetary Movements in Detail (Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Chiron)

Uranus

The orbit of Uranus is 84 years, but variations during that orbit can alter the time of the all-important half-return. Uranus is going through a speeding-up process at the moment, so those who are now approaching their forties will experience the half-return at the age of 39. Older subjects will have experienced this at 40, 41 or even 42. Uranus, the ‘breakout’ planet, brings issues of freedom and originality to the fore, so, if a subject has been living a very conventional life up to the time of the return, they may kick over the traces when it comes. The Progressed Moon and the Decanates (Aries, Taurus, Gemini & Cancer)

Because the Moon moves so quickly, it traverses a whole decanate in just under a year, thus adding an interesting touch of spice to any lunar progression.

It is interesting to note that the first decanate of any sign is always sub-ruled by itself, so it is obviously at its most effective. Perhaps this is a necessity, because if it were not so the ingress of a planet into a new sign wouldn’t make as much of an impression. As the Moon works through the decanates of any sign the effect of the sub-rulers becomes quite obvious. Read the rest of this entry »

Astrology Telling Capricorn Personality

Capricorns seem to grow young, rather than old. They are born thirty, and spend their youth and early twenties growing their body into its rightful age.

To be truthful, they would love to have skipped all those tiresome early years, having to be friends with immature brats and having no control over their destiny. The teenage years are especially painful for a Capricorn — rebellion holds no sway with her; she just wants to get out of school, so she can start earning a wage and take some control over her life. Aquarius/Aquarius

Friends or lovers — can lovers still be friends? Of course, you both cry. But what happens when it seems lovers have become only friends? Neither of you likes to be at home much, so you will spend most of your intimate domestic life over cappuccinos in an inner-city café. Eventually the cracks might begin to show. You have an excellent mental rapport and your debates on politics, science and art are second to none, but your relationship may lack warmth and depth of feeling. You are both used to playing the aloof, hard-to-get one, but this will not do if you are going to make this work. You are going to have to make yourself a little vulnerable — are you up to the challenge? Read the rest of this entry »

The Language of the Unconscious

Monday March 10th, 2008 in Emotion, Intelligence, Spiritual Reading | No Comments »

While emotions form the nucleus of a dream, symbols add substance. Dream symbols are the unique language of the unconscious mind — a language that differs dramatically from the way in which images are consciously summoned by the waking mind, under the watchful eye of reason. The pioneer of psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud (1856-1939), likened human consciousness to an iceberg floating in the ocean: the relatively small projection above the waterline represents waking reality (consciousness), while the massive body of the iceberg lying below the surface is our mysterious and complex unconscious. Before we begin to use dreams to help us enhance our relationships, we need to understand what might lie beneath the surface of the ocean of consciousness, and how that understanding can help. Freud’s contemporary (and rival) Carl Jung (I875-1961) divided this vast expanse of the unconscious into two components: the personal unconscious and the collective unconscious. Volcanoes and Moonquakes

Dreams erupt with emotions. Some smother us with the violent force of a volcano, while others provide a gentle nudge — the slight tremor of a moonquake. Waking consciousness is vigilantly protected from emotional assaults too intense to withstand, as we automatically erect psychological barriers that let in only those feelings we can manage. Dream emotions have no such defensive barriers. They are honest, straightforward, and lay bare feelings that in waking life stay buried beneath the business of each day or are misinterpreted when we subject them to rational analysis. The lingering nature of dream emotions (for example, the feelings of dream sadness that we carry into morning wakefulness) is evidence enough that we should take notice of them. Emotional Surges

During trying times, dreams can help us to deal with our powerful emotions and equip us with the emotional strength and self-confidence to see a crisis through to its conclusion. Of course, they will also reflect our turbulent state of mind by generating negative images and moods — for example, if we are jealous, we might vividly imagine passionate acts of betrayal. However, there are several possible approaches that, combined in a conscious program of visualization and dream- work, will enable us to muster the inner resources to ride out the emotional storm.

When we are overcome by surges of emotion we tend to perform an act of emotional surrender, allowing them to take us over so that, in effect, those feelings are magnified. Read the rest of this entry »

Passion and Love

Passion burns at the core of the libido, which according to Freud is the source of all human energy. It ignites and inspires us, and both drains and rejuvenates us. It is the soul of art, and the fire of love. It is passion that gives a relationship its depth and intensity, and it appears in dreams in many guises.

When we think of passion, erotic dreams naturally come to mind. Manyof these are playful and exciting, and can arouse waking sensuality, but others may leave the dreamer in turmoil, or feeling embarrassed, even ashamed. Erotic dreams rarely mean what the imagery at first seems to portray, so they should always be interpreted with care. Read the rest of this entry »

Parting and Reunion

It is only in certain exceptional relationships that couples do not experience at least short periods apart. It is said that Paul and Linda McCartney never spent a single night away from each other in their 29 years of marriage; if true, this is a miraculous achievement. The reality for most couples is that one partner needs to spend time away from home occasionally, perhaps for work or family matters, or to pursue independent leisure pursuits. Past and Present

For reasons that can be hard to fathom, some relationships seem cursed by time. The joys of the present somehow seem to be blighted by what has happened in the past. Often the problem is that the shadow of a former love has fallen over our relationship. Events that unfolded long before we met our partner exert a spectral influence — sometimes making the relationship seem triangular. How do we expel this interloper from our lives, and start to breathe a purer air? Read the rest of this entry »

Perennial Love

Binding love is that special state of a mature relationship when stability, familiarity, and fulfillment have taken deep root. Key ingredients are intimacy, passion, and commitment. Intimacy can be defined as emotional bonding; passion is the satisfaction of the physical, with elements also of nurturing and self-assertion; and commitment is a conscious decision of attachment — the bond that keeps a relationship together during hard times. Together, these three components complete a triangle that links two people in a lasting and fulfilling union. Read the rest of this entry »

Remembering Special Occasions

Thursday February 28th, 2008 in Dream, Emotion, Oneiromancy, Spiritual Reading | No Comments »

It is something of a cliché that husbands forget anniversaries and their wives’ birthdays, but slips of memory can affect us all. Using dream remembrance cues can help bring those vital dates to mind.

Psychic ReadingsOne of the best ways to use dreams to remind us of special occasions is to select a symbol and associate it with an important date. For example you could visualize your partner as a giant balloon with the dateinscribed across its side, or as a racehorse with the number corresponding to the birthday or anniversary displayed on its saddle. The more imaginative the image, the more memorable it will be.

Well in advance of the target date, you need to focus on the image every night, before going to sleep. Try to keep this up regularly, and after a whileyou should notice the symbol you selected to remind you of your special date occuring in your dreams.
