What I am going to describe to you here is a secret method whose principles stem from the ancient Chinese military use of feng shui and are often implemented in architectural design by modern Chinese and Japanese commercial firms. The controversial Bank of China building in Hong Kong is an outstanding case in point.

When the building was completed, the consensus in Hong Kong was that it was a disastrous piece of architecture that boded ill for the future of the bank. Read the rest of this entry »

Overall Arrangement

The most important points to consider in arranging the workplace are the position of the main office, or CEO’s office, and the ease of movement of personnel and operations. Once the location of the main office is determined, it will be relatively simple to figure out where everything else should go.

Short of considering compass directions, the ideal locations for the CEO’s office are at the power and money points of the overall space. Read the rest of this entry »

Astrology and the Human Body

Sunday September 14th, 2008 in Astrology Reading | 3 Comments »

Check out the following list to see how the planets, signs and houses link to the different parts of the body.

This list will come in very handy when you want to examine the state of health of a subject on a progressed chart of any kind. The information here will be far too basic for those who want to make a career of medical astrology but it is enough for the rest of us. Think before opening your mouth when dealing with this aspect of astrology because the last thing you want to do is to alarm anyone or to plant the idea in a subject’s head that he is likely to become ill. Natal and Progressed Chart, How to Find Your Way through the Interpretation Maze continue…

  1. Venus: As per Pluto. Venus transits last for up to a month, but take note of those times when Venus is retrograde, because this can lengthen and intensify its effects.
  2. Mercury: As per Pluto. Mercury’s transits last for a couple of weeks; however, watch out for retrograde times.
  3. Chiron: This planetoid has an eccentric orbit, but it usually spends a couple of years in a sign. Its transits can therefore last for several months, especially when it turns retrograde and back again.
  4. The nodes of the Moon: These take about a year or so to work through each sign, and their effect can last for a few months when aspecting a particularly sensitive spot.
  5. The Moon: The Moon takes two and a half days to work through each sign, so its transits are very short lived. However a new Moon, a full Moon and especially an eclipse will have a powerful effect on anything that it aspects. An eclipse which conjuncts a subject’s Sun, Moon or ascendant is bound to be strongly felt.

Natal and Progressed Chart, How to Find Your Way through the Interpretation Maze

The best way to interpret a chart is to do it logically. Find a routine that suits you and stick to it and, unless you are already an accomplished astrologer, keep things very simple. Use only the normal and very obvious planets and features on a chart and deal with only the major aspects. In time you will find a system that suits you, but, in case you really don’t know where to start, I shall show you mine.

Stage 1

First of all make up a natal chart and then work out a set of day-for-a-year progressions. Place the progressions around the natal chart (using a different coloured ink, if working by hand) and also make a separate list of them to refer to. Keep a notebook handy for your findings. Solar and Lunar Returns

Solar returns

Solar returns are also sometimes known as solar return directions, and they are a form of transit, so they can be read in much the same way as any other list of transits. I think these are easiest to interpret when they are read as a stand-alone chart, rather than being put against a natal chart. Please try both methods for yourself before you make up your mind.

A solar return is arrived at by taking the Sun back to the exact spot that it occupied at the time of a subject’s birth. This usually happens on the subject’s birthday but it can occur a day before or afterwards. In plain English, it shows where the planets actually are in the sky at the time of the Sun’s return, and this is, of course, a picture of the transits at the moment that the Sun returns to its natal position. The Techniques of Prediction of Transits

If you take a look at the sky just before dawn on a cloudless morning, you will notice two or three stars that seem to hang about after the others have gone. Alternatively, wait for a cloudless night just after the Sun has set, and you will notice two or three stars glittering brightly in the dark blue heavens. These ’stars’ are actually planets, and the chances are that, if you look towards the area where the Sun is rising or setting, you will spot bright and beautiful Venus and the smaller and duller Mercury. Elsewhere in the sky, depending upon the time of year, you may find another very bright planet, Jupiter, and perhaps the smaller and slightly reddish Mars or the similarly small but slightly yellowish Saturn. You will need an astronomer’s telescope to see Uranus, Neptune or Pluto. Read the rest of this entry »

Natal Charting Ascendant Calculation, Horoscope `map of the hour’ continue…

Thursday September 4th, 2008 in Astrology Reading, Fortune Tellers, Horoscope | 2 Comments »

I can’t go into natal charting in any depth in this post, but, just as a reminder to those of you who are moving into real astrology, here are the steps that you will need to take.

Either buy a computer program that will work out the figures for a natal chart, progress it, produce a list of transits and put everything together in chart form, and then teach yourself to use this. Or teach yourself how to do it by hand. If you are serious about astrology, do both! Read the rest of this entry »

Natal Charting Ascendant Calculation, Horoscope `map of the hour’

You will have come across the terms natal chart and birthchart at various times, and before we move on any further we ought to take a very brief look at this. A natal chart is a map of the heavens at the moment of the birth of a subject, an enterprise, a country or anything else that comes into manifestation. The very word horoscope means `map of the hour’. The natal chart describes the character of the person or enterprise in question. Read the rest of this entry »

The Eagle and the Phoenix, Scorpio Connotations

Scorpio’s constellation is impressive in that it actually resemblances its sign, the Scorpio, whereas other constellations are obscure. Probably for this reason, the scorpion is often used to explain the concepts of Scorpio, with a sting in its tail. Scorpio also has two other symbols (it is the only sign with three), the eagle and the phoenix, and these have some interesting connotations.

All three signs are able to conquer their difficult environments with a combination of stealth and intelligence. The phoenix is the Greek name for a mythological bird offered in sacrifice to Ra, God of the Sun, in the ancient Egypt. This bird was similar to an eagle, and possessed golden-red feathers like flames. Read the rest of this entry »

Passion and Anger, Logical Science Mind, Scorpio at Work

Tuesday September 2nd, 2008 in Astrology Reading, Horoscope, Psychology | 5 Comments »

Scorpios are drawn to the religious and austere professions. Many ministers, priests and nuns have a great deal of Scorpio influence in their chart. However, they can also use these professions to cloak their deeply passionate and sexual natures which they sometimes find disturbing. Passion and anger can be all-too-comfortable bedfellows with guilt and self-loathing — watch that you don’t curl that sting back on yourself. Read the rest of this entry »
